Bali visa, arrival card and tourist levy for Saudi, UAE and GCC passports

Citizens of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman can get a 30-day visa on arrival at Denpasar airport, or apply for the same visa online before flying as an e-VoA. It can be extended once for another 30 days.

Yes, you need a visa, and no, you do not need to visit an embassy. All six GCC passports qualify for Indonesia’s Visa on Arrival. Buy it at the counter when you land, or apply online before you fly and walk past that counter. We recommend the second.

Do GCC citizens need a visa for Bali?

Yes. Indonesia issues a Visa on Arrival to the six GCC nationalities for tourism, family visits and short business trips. It is valid for 30 days from the day you enter and can be extended once, inside Indonesia, for a further 30 days. It is single entry: leaving the country ends it, even for a day.

Visa on arrival by GCC country

Country Visa type Stay
Saudi Arabia Visa on Arrival or e-VoA 30 days, extendable once to 60
United Arab Emirates Visa on Arrival or e-VoA 30 days, extendable once to 60
Kuwait Visa on Arrival or e-VoA 30 days, extendable once to 60
Qatar Visa on Arrival or e-VoA 30 days, extendable once to 60
Bahrain Visa on Arrival or e-VoA 30 days, extendable once to 60
Oman Visa on Arrival or e-VoA 30 days, extendable once to 60

The table applies to the passport you travel on, not your country of residence. A family member on a different passport should check their own nationality on the official immigration site before booking flights.

Should I get the e-VoA before I fly?

Yes. The e-VoA is the same visa, issued online through the Indonesian immigration website and paid by card. You upload the passport photo page and a photograph, pay the fee, and receive the visa by email.

The reason to do it in advance is the queue. At Denpasar airport, travellers without an e-VoA queue at the payment counter first, then again at passport control. When several wide-body flights land together, that first queue is long. Travellers holding an e-VoA go straight to passport control, and many can use the automatic gates. For a family with tired children, that is the difference between meeting your guide in twenty minutes and in ninety.

Apply about a week before departure, once your flights are fixed. The fee is set by Indonesian immigration; check the current amount before you fly.

What documents do I need at immigration?

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive, with a blank page for the stamp.
  • A return or onward ticket. Officers do ask for it.
  • Your e-VoA, printed or on your phone, if you applied in advance.
  • Your All Indonesia arrival card QR code and your tourist levy confirmation, both covered below.

Every child needs their own passport and visa, infants included. There is no family visa.

What is the Bali tourist levy?

A one-off levy on foreign visitors, separate from the visa and collected by the Bali provincial government. It is paid once per visit, per person, children included, either online before you travel through the province’s official Love Bali site or at a counter after you land. The amount is set by the provincial government; check the current figure before you fly, and keep the confirmation on your phone.

What is the All Indonesia arrival card?

A free online declaration that every traveller to Indonesia completes before landing. Since September 2025 at Bali’s airport, and October 2025 at every international airport, it has replaced the separate customs form and health declaration: immigration, customs and health questions now sit in one form. It is not a visa and does not replace one.

Fill it in on the official All Indonesia site of the Indonesian immigration service, within the 72 hours before your flight; it will not accept an earlier submission. It issues a QR code. Keep it on your phone for passport control and for the customs exit from the baggage hall. Copycat sites charge a fee for the same form, so use only the official address, which ends in imigrasi.go.id.

Where does my guide meet me?

Inside the arrivals hall, after customs, with your name on a board. Not outside among the taxi drivers. If you are arriving on one of our packages, such as the Bintang Bali programme, the car is already waiting and the hotel is the only stop. If you are arriving on your own and joining the Ubud day or Nusa Penida later, tell us your flight number anyway; we watch the arrival time and are not surprised by a delay.

Can I extend my stay?

Once, for a further 30 days. Apply inside Indonesia before the first 30 days run out, through the immigration website or an immigration office; it usually takes one visit in person to the office in Denpasar for fingerprints and a photo. Overstaying carries a daily fine and can affect future entry.

Things that change

Indonesia has adjusted its visa fees, online systems and arrival forms several times in recent years, and the tourist levy is newer still. Before you fly, check three things on the official Indonesian immigration website: that your passport still qualifies for Visa on Arrival, the current fee, and whether the All Indonesia arrival card has changed since this page was written.

Bali Central Travel does not process visas or act as a visa agent. This page is general information, correct to the best of our knowledge at the date shown above, and does not replace the official sources. What we do is meet you on the other side of the barrier with a car and a guide who speaks your language.
