Day 1Ubud — the rice terraces, a coffee plantation and a waterfall
The day Ubud is famous for, taken slowly. The terraces stepping down the valley while the light is still low, a coffee plantation where the beans are tasted through in stages, and a waterfall in the afternoon. Your own car and driver all day, so nothing is shared and nothing is rushed.
Day 2Rafting, quad bikes and the swing
The active day, in the green middle of the island. Down the Ayung in an inflatable raft between two banks of jungle, quad bikes along the mud tracks, and the swing above the terraces to finish — the most photographed thing in the whole week.
Day 3Nusa Dua water sports, Uluwatu at sunset and Jimbaran
The south coast, from morning to dark. The water first at Nusa Dua — parasailing, jet ski, the banana boat — then up onto the Uluwatu cliffs for the end of the afternoon, and the day closes over a table of seafood on the sand at Jimbaran.
Day 4North Bali — Ulun Danu, the Handara gate and a waterfall
The long drive north, and the coolest air of the week. The lake temple at Ulun Danu Bratan with the mountain behind it, the Handara gate standing on its own in the highlands, and a waterfall on the way back down.
Day 5Seminyak — the shops, a massage and the sunset
The gentlest day, and the one most people wish they had put earlier in the week. The Seminyak shops in the morning, a Balinese massage through the heat of the afternoon, and the sunset from the beach at the end of it.

Common questions
Is the price per person or for two?
For the two of you together. $5,400 is the whole package for two travellers — $2,700 each. If there are more of you, send us the number and the children's ages and we requote before you book.
Which hotels are we in?
Two nights inland and five on the coast, and we run the package with either of two pairings. The first is The Royal Pita Maha, above the Ayung valley in Ubud, with The Anvaya Beach Resort on Kuta beach. The second is Ulaman Eco Luxury Resort — a bamboo-built resort among the rice fields and jungle inland, with its own spa — and W Bali in Seminyak, on the sand, where the pool and the sunset are what the evening is for. They are two different holidays rather than two names for the same one, so tell us which of the two you want. We confirm the pairing, and the room, before you book, so you never arrive at a name you have not seen.
What exactly does "private pool" mean here?
A pool of your own, inside your own villa or suite — not a pool the hotel shares. At The Royal Pita Maha that is a Deluxe Pool Villa or a Royal Pool Villa above the Ayung valley; at The Anvaya it is an Anvaya Suite with a private pool, on Kuta beach with the sand a few steps away. On the Ulaman and W Bali pairing the two rooms are named the same way. The room category is written into your confirmation, not just the hotel name.
How many touring days are there, and what about the rest?
Five full days, the ones set out above. That leaves your arrival day, one free day and your departure day — most people spend the free one in the villa and the pool, and we will add another tour or an activity to it if you would rather. Tell us and we will price it before you agree to it.
Is the transport ours for the whole week?
Yes. A private car and driver for the length of the programme, not only on the five touring days, plus the airport meet-and-greet when you land and the transfer back for your flight. Nothing on this trip is shared with another group.
